First aluminum tower foundations placed

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, the first Hyndla aluminum foundations were installed as part of our first project with Elvia, the largest Norwegian regional TSO. The next step is helicopter installation of the towers later this spring.

The project is part of a new 132 kV transmission line between Løvbergsmoen, Lutufallet og Trysil in the east of Norway.

These towers are located just a few meters from a passing river. To avoid any shifts in the soil after installation, the aluminum sections are placed in concrete wells. Our prefabricated aluminium foundations were lifted into position in a single lift with an alignment profile that helps position the foundations properly. The prefabricated foundations also allow the foundation work to be completed immediately with no need for additional work after the towers arrive in the summer, when heavy machinery cannot enter the site.

Dobloug Entreprenør did a very good job of getting the foundations level. This ensures that it is as easy as possible to align the 18 meter tall towers when they are lifted in by a single helicopter lift.

Stay tuned for the tower installation later this spring!

Both foundations are easily lifted in place by a digger. Combined weight of 250kg including the guiding cross beam.
